Strong Minds, Bold Futures Youth Program

Emotional Intelligence & Motivation Empowerment

Program for Youth (Ages 12–16)

Who Are We?

The Strong Minds, Strong Futures Program is an evidence-based Emotional Intelligence (EI) and Motivation Workshop designed to support youth ages 12–16 who face increasing social, emotional, and behavioral challenges in today’s communities. We introduce participants to Emotional Intelligence as a transformative life skill that strengthens emotional awareness, self-control, empathy, resilience, and responsible decision-making.

Through interactive teaching, motivational coaching, youth engagement activities, and practical EI strategies. Parents are required to participate in an orientation which equips families with tools to break cycles of emotional distress and build emotionally healthy, goal-driven households and future community leaders.

Why?

Across the United States, approximately 23% of children live in single-parent households, a demographic often connected with higher exposure to emotional stress, economic hardship, and reduced parental time availability due to work and caregiving demands. Research indicates that adolescents raised in single-parent homes may experience increased risks of anxiety, depression, substance use, and externalizing behavioral challenges when adequate emotional and social support are lacking.

Youth between the ages of 12–16 represent a critical developmental stage, where identity formation, peer influence, and emotional instability are heightened. National psychological reports indicate that many adolescents struggle with emotion regulation, impulsive decision-making, and stress management, contributing to behavioral incidents, school disengagement, and risk-taking behaviors. Additionally, only about 58.5% of U.S. teens report consistently receiving the emotional and social support they need, revealing a significant emotional support gap among young people today.

Research confirms that youth with stronger emotional intelligence demonstrate:

  • Lower aggression and risky behaviors

  • Reduced anxiety and depression

  • Improved academic performance

  • Greater resilience and motivation

  • Healthier relationships and social adjustment
